Sale of Chametz - Contract

Delegation of power of attorney for sale of chametz

I fully empower and permit Rabbi Eliezer Ben-Porat, Moreh Tzedek in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, to act in my place and stead, and on my behalf to sell all chametz in my possession, whether or not its existence is known to me.

The term chametz, as applied here, refers to anything made out of the five types of grain (wheat, barley, oats, spelt and rye) as defined by the Torah and Rabbinic law. That is, actual chametz, possible chametz and all kinds of chametz mixtures, as well as chametz that tends to harden and adhere to surfaces of pans, pots and other cooking or eating utensils.

Rabbi Eliezer Ben-Porat is also empowered to lease all places wherein the chametz owned by me may be found, especially at the premises indicated on the attached form and elsewhere.

Rabbi Eliezer Ben-Porat also has the full power and right to sell and lease the abovementioned by transactions, as he deems fit and proper and for such time which he believes necessary in accordance with all terms detailed in the general bill of sale (used in the transaction to sell my chametz) which is in the possession of Rabbi Eliezer Ben-Porat.

I hereby give Rabbi Eliezer Ben-Porat full power and authority to appoint any agent or substitute in his stead, and said substitute shall have the full rights to sell and lease as provided herein.

The above given rights and power are in conformity with all Torah and Rabbinic regulations and laws.

By clicking here, I agree with everything stated above (as though I've signed in my own hand) and will now proceed to the personal information section.
